Statement

Westford Vermont is a beautiful place. It's full of color in the summertime. Everything is lush and saturated. Winter is black and white. I did a lot of drawing in Westford. I liked black and white. Only gradually did color become a large part of my work.

I've had dreams of nostalgic places with colors as brilliant as stained glass. I draw a lot of inspiration from my dreams and Portland itself. Misty views of industrial architecture have that nostalgic feeling for me. Composition is also an important part of my work. I try to intuitively build the structure of an image with all it’s different parts supporting each other so the image is pleasing on a purely visual level.
