Neil Bacon: I was born in South Africa in 1972. I came to North America when I was three, and lived briefly in Canada, Oregon, and Long Island before settling in Pennsylvania. I learned to wood carve in Oregon, when I was 17. I studied photography, printmaking, and art history at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I have an MFA in Photography from Edinburgh College of Art in Edinburgh Scotland, where I spent 4 years studying, working, and teaching. Through a series of most fortunate events, including settling in Oregon, getting a kidney transplant, and losing a desk job that I hated I stumbled upon Trackers Earth, where I have been teaching woodworking since the summer of 2019. I believe everyone needs the space to be creative.
Sarah Damian is a champion of art as a powerful process that transforms the imagination into tangible new worlds. She believes all kids are natural artists and enjoys holding space for them to explore their senses, sense of play, and boundless creative capacities. Sarah coordinated Trackers’ Art of Nature after-school program and has taught various art classes for Spark Online, including DIY clay and sculpting. Come imagine and craft with her at ArtPDX!
